Procedure to modify a variable tag value on Vijeo Citect running on Magelis iPC touch screen PC running Windows 8.1 Operating System
- On Windows startup, the following screen is displayed. Windows native touch screen keyboard (TabTip.exe) icon is displayed (highlighted in red) on bottom right corner of the screen on the Windows Task bar.
- While Vijeo Citect is running full screen the only way to access TabTip is via Start screen (and not via the Windows task bar). Follow the steps 2.1 to 2.4 to find TabTip.exe executable and pin it to the Start screen.
2.1. Press and hold Windows Task Bar and select Task Manager. Navigate to Processes tab. Press and hold Touch Keyboard and Handwriting process. Tap/Touch Open file location.
2.2 While the file location is displayed, press and hold TabTip.exe executable file. Then tap Pin to Start.
2.3. To run Tabtip from Start screen, swipe the touch screen from the right to left. Charms bar will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. Tap Start icon to display Start screen.
2.4. Notice that now TabTip tile will be displayed on the Start screen. Tap Tabtip tile to display native touch screen keyboard.
- This document is based on PlantStruxure PES v4.0 and Vijeo Citect v7.40. Run Vijeo Citect runtime. Log in a user. Enter username and password using native touch screen keyboard now available in the Start screen.
- Select a genie which has a variable tag whose value you want to modify. FI1001 genie is used as an example below. Access the keyboard via the Start screen (right to left swipe).
- To write to High value tap it once and ensure that it is in focus. If the graphic item is in focus then there will be white rectangle surrounding it as shown in the screen shot below. Tap &123 key to display numeric keyboard. Tap numbers to enter desired value (e.g. 15.5) and then tap Enter key.
- Notice that after tapping Enter key the High value is now 15.5 (value which was entered). We have now successfully modified a variable tag value using touch screen keyboard.
NOTE: Screenshots above were taken in 4:3 resolution. Most Schneider Magelis iPCs have 16:9 resolution and your Vijeo Citect graphics pages will need to be configured in 16:9 resolution.
