How do you short out a neutral CT for NT, NW, P or R breakers when it is installed, but you don`t want to use it? Do jumpers need to be added?

Issue:
Sometimes an installed circuit breaker is connected to an installed neutral CT, and there is a need to disconnect the NCT wires from the breaker, but the neutral CT cannot be physically removed from the equipment. When the NCT wires are disconnected, is there a need to add any jumpers to the NCT terminals?

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Environment:
Applies only to Masterpact NT, NW, and PowerPact P and R circuit breakers

Resolution:
For Masterpact NT, NW, or PowerPact P or R Circuit Breaker with neutral CT already installed, in order to disconnect the NCT from the breaker without removing the NCT from the equipment, follow these steps:

(1) De-energize the equipment

(3) Circuit Breaker terminals (green connector on top of the trip unit)
  • Remove the wires from breaker terminals T1 and T2, and ADD A JUMPER between breaker terminals T1 and T2
