Issue:
Sometimes an installed circuit breaker is connected to an installed neutral CT, and there is a need to disconnect the NCT wires from the breaker, but the neutral CT cannot be physically removed from the equipment. When the NCT wires are disconnected, is there a need to add any jumpers to the NCT terminals?

Resolution:
For Masterpact NT, NW, or PowerPact P or R Circuit Breaker with neutral CT already installed, in order to disconnect the NCT from the breaker without removing the NCT from the equipment, follow these steps:
NEUTRAL CT'S WITH TERMINALS LABELED T1, T2, T3, T4
(1) De-energize the equipment
(2) NCT terminals
OLDER NEUTRAL CT'S WITH TERMINALS LABELED SG1, SG2, X1 and X2
(1) De-energize the equipment
(2) NCT terminals

NEUTRAL CT'S WITH TERMINALS LABELED T1, T2, T3, T4
(1) De-energize the equipment
(2) NCT terminals
- Remove the wires from NCT terminals T1 and T2 (there is no need to jumper those terminals)
- Make sure there is a jumper between NCT terminals T3 and T4
- Remove the wires from breaker terminals T1 and T2, and ADD A JUMPER between breaker terminals T1 and T2
- Do NOT add add a jumper between breaker terminals T3 and T4
OLDER NEUTRAL CT'S WITH TERMINALS LABELED SG1, SG2, X1 and X2
(1) De-energize the equipment
(2) NCT terminals
- Remove the wires from NCT terminals SG2 and SG1 (there is no need to jumper those terminals)
- Make sure there is a jumper between NCT terminals X1 and X2
- Remove the wires from breaker terminals T1 and T2, and ADD A JUMPER between breaker terminals T1 and T2
- Do NOT add add a jumper between breaker terminals T3 and T4
