What is the maximum continuous load a customer can use on SquareD/Schneider`s Low Voltage dry type Distribution Transformers?

Issue:
Loading of LV Transformers

Product Line:
LV Transformers

Environment:
Applies to Low Voltage Transformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric

Cause:
Requirement not to exceed Transformer loading specifications

Resolution:

SquareD/Schneider Electric Low Voltage dry type Distribution Transformers are 100% rated devices. That means that they are designed for a continuous full load in ideal conditions (clean steady nominal voltage, constant 1.0pf load, 30degC ambient...) Since ideal conditions rarely exist, a standard exists to help evaluate the life expectancy of a Transformer under varioius loading conditions. That standard is ANSI C57.12.96. To obtain a copy of the standard, it is necessary to purchase from ANSI. SquareD/Schneider Electric cannot provide a copy of the standard as it is copy righted material. Under normal conditions, it is quite common for low voltage dry type Transformers to satisfactorily serve their loads for 20, 30 years or more.
