1) The RC units are used with AC coils only. The varistor units are used with AC or DC coils
2) The RC units drop out time is 1.2 to 2 times normal compared to the varistor 1.1 to 1.5 times normal.
3) The RC unit limits transient voltage to 300% of the nominal voltage maximum compared to a varistor 200% of nominal voltage maximum.
