Wire installation

Resolution:
The U.S. 600Amp Heavy Duty Safety Switches will accept as standard (2) #3/0 AWG through 500 KCMIL aluminum or copper wires per phase. The Lug conductor(or wire) temperature rating is 75 degrees C.

The Canadian 600Amp Heavy Duty Safety Switches will accept as standard (1) 350 - 500kcmil AL or CU wire per phase OR        (2) 1/0 - 300kcmil AL or CU wire per phase. BUT it is always good to verify by checking the switch wiring diagram label.

NOTES:
1) The only alternate lugs are compression lugs and they do NOT allow for any different wire size or quantity than what is shown above.
2) 90 degree wire can be used, BUT it MUST be sized per the 75 degree ampacity table in the National Electrical Code.
