What is meant by convertible mains for a QO or Homeline load center?

Convertible mains means that the main breaker load centers, these are load centers that come with a Main Breaker (or Main Disconnect or Main Shut OFF) in the load center, they can be converted in the field to change the Main Breaker to Main Lugs. Main Lugs would only provide the load center with Lugs where the Main Service Wires get attached and there would no longer be a Main Breaker.
And vice versa. It means that the Main Lug load centers, these are load centers that come with Main Lugs ONLY for the incoming main service wires to connect. These load centers can be converted in the field to change the Main lugs to a Main Breaker and the incoming service wires would now attach to the Main Breaker.
