Resolution:
Square D does NOT specifically design and build transformers for welding applications. It is up to the customer to determine the duty cycle and stresses a particular application, such as welders, may place upon a transformer. While buck-boost transformers place less impedance into the circuit, and hence less regulation, they are still current rated devices and the customer may want to significantly oversize the buck-boost capacity to compensate for the severe stress a welder can place upon it`s source.
