Resolution:
Control Circuit ratings are established by NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association). These ratings are also recognized by UL and CSA as designated electrical ratings. By definition a control circuit is a circuit that carries the electrical signals directing the performance of a controller but which does not carry the main power. ie the use of an intermediate device such as a starter could be required.

In this rating scheme the numerical designation is the maximum voltage value, ie A600 is for up to 600 volts. Ratings A,B,C,D,E are AC ratings; N,P,Q,R are DC ratings.
Specifically A600 rating is
10 amp thermal continuous
120v: 60a make, 6a break
240v: 30a make, 3a break
480v: 15a make, 1.5a break
600v: 12a make, 1.2a break
Maximum VA: 7200 make 720 break
