Can an electrical accessory be installed on an MA or MH circuit breaker in the field?

Resolution:
If the breaker is series 2 or later, an electrical accessory can be added. Series 2 breakers have removable covers on the left and right poles alongside the handle. The series number is near the catalog number on the faceplate. Depending on the age of the breaker it may say "Series 2" or "S2". If the breaker was manufactured in 1985 or later it will be series 5. However, the field installable MA/MH accessories are no longer available.
An alarm switch (bell alarm) cannot be added in the field. This device is factory installed only.
