How can we help you today?

Do you need to take into consideration the service factor of the motor when setting the trip range on the Solid State Motorlogic overload relay?

Issue:
Setting the FLA on solid state overload

Product Line:
NEMA and Definite Purpose Contactors and Starters

Environment:
9065 Solid State Overload relay

Resolution:
If the  motor has a service factor of 1.0, then you would set the dial to 90% of the motor's full load current.
The solid state overload has a built in service factor of 1.15 - 1.25. If the motor has a service factor of 1.15 - 1.25,
set the dial to the motor's full load current rating. All other service factor ratings will need to be calculated by the motor manufacturer.
