Homeline Load Centers
Resolution:
THIS INFORMATION ONLY APPLIES TO NEMA 1 (INDOOR) load centers.
A surface cover is designed to be used when a load center is mounted with its back against the wall, and the cover will only extend to the edges of the load center box (so it will be the same width and height as the box itself).
A flush cover is designed to be used when a load center is mounted flush (or inside the wall cavity) and the cover will extend beyond the edges of the load center box, approximately 5/8 of an inch all the way around the box. So the flush cover is the width of the box PLUS 5/8" x 2 and the height of the box PLUS 5/8" x 2. These are APPROXIMATE dimensions.
The QO load centers do not come standard with a cover from the factory. Covers are ordered separately. There are separate catalog numbers for either a surface or a flush cover.
The Homeline load centers come standard with a combination cover from the factory and is used for both surface and flush applications. Homeline load centers do NOT have a separate surface only or flush only cover.
The combination cover will have approximately 5/8" overhang all the way around the load center box, so it will be the same size as described above for a flush cover.
Replacement covers for the Homeline load centers can be obtained separately, for the current design. See the internal box label or directory label on the cover for the correct catalog number of the cover.
