Can the Class 9422 Type A* handle operators for the Class 9422 flange mounted fusible and nonfusible disconnect switches be mounted on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the enclosure?

Issue:
Can the Class 9422 Type A* handle operators for the Class 9422 flange mounted fusible and nonfusible disconnect switches be mounted on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the enclosure? This also applies for the Class 9422 Type R flange mounted variable depth operating mechanisms for Square D circuit breakers.

Product Line:
Operating Mechanism & Disconnect Switches

Environment:
Flange mounted operating mechanisms

Resolution:
Right hand or left hand operation is determined by the switch or mechanism, not the handle. The switch is factory assembled for right-hand operation but can be field converted for left-hand operation.

NOTE:  This does not apply to Class 9422 Type T Bracket Mounted Disconnect, 9422TG 400A switches and the 9422CF cable mounted operating mechanisms as these are designed for right-hand operation only. Refer to the switch Instruction bulletin for additional information
