Resolution:
No, the lugs are not approved for use with fine stranded wire. Only class B or C cable is approved for use in the lugs, and fine stranded wire is not class B or C. This include ferrules/sleeves/copper shims, which can break and create a false torque reading, leading to a loose connection that can cause arcing/overheating.

NOTE: Finely stranded wire is also referred to as welder's cable or DLO diesel locomotive cable.
