What does the term "interchangeable trip" mean when applied to circuit breakers?

Issue:
What does it mean to have an "interchangeable trip" breaker?

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Resolution:
This is a feature offered on some breakers that allows the breaker trip setting to change by swapping a trip unit module. For example, a 225 A breaker could be made into a 200 A breaker by swapping trip units. This contrasts to a "fixed trip" breaker for which the trip setting cannot be changed.
