Cause:

Resolution:
HDSS = Heavy Duty Safety Switches
SCCR = Short Circuit Current Rating

ALL the 60amp, 600Vac max., HDSS accept Class H or K fuses as standard. Options include Class R fuses (field install Class R Fuse Kit) and Class J fuses (field relocate the fuse base assembly to alternate position marked in the enclosure). With Class H or K fuses installed, the switches are UL/CSA listed for use on systems with up to 10,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes available fault current. With Class R fuses (and Class R Fuse Kit installed) or Class J fuses installed, the switches are UL/CSA listed for use on systems with up to 200,000 RMS Symmetrical Amperes available fault current.

NOTES:
1) All Square D Canadian 30 - 200amp, 600Vac, 3pole HDSS leave the factory to accept class J Fuses as standard(Including the Crouse Hinds Receptacle switches). Conversion to Class H fuses requires relocating the load side base assembly to an alternate position as marked in the enclosure.

2)
DO NOT USE RENEWABLE LINK FUSES IN SQUARE D SAFETY SWITCHES. The use of renewable link fuses may adversely affect user safety, impair reliability and will void the warranty.
