On a XPSAC5121P Safety Relay, what is meant by maximum thermal current and maximum total thermal current?
Issue:
What are the maximum current ratings of the XPSAC safety relays?
Product Line:
Preventa Machine Safety Products
Environment:
Product Characteristics
Resolution:
The Maximum Thermal Current is the amount of current a circuit can handle if using one output contact. The Maximum Total Thermal Current is the maximum current if using all three circuits. Here the maximum thermal current of a circuit is 6A. But if using all three circuits, the maximum total thermal current is not 6 X 3 or 18A but 10.5A. Using 18A would overheat the relay.
