Connecting UPS Outputs Together (Paralleling UPS)

If more than one UPS is used and are hard wired to distribution panels, they are to be kept as separate systems. Paralleling output power of our units to one single phase distribution panel is not an option.  Each UPS is a separate generation source that acts independently. Connecting the outputs in parallel creates a situation where separate UPS will "fight" each other and will malfunction and may even become damaged.  Paralleling UPS outputs requires special circuitry to be incorporated into the UPS.  To find out if your UPS is capable of this, please contact Schneider Electric technical support.
