What is the Maximum distance the CT lead can be extended for the E4800, EM4800 and the EM4000 Series Meters?

Issue:
The standard length for CT leads is 6'. The CT leads require to be extended in order reach the meter.

Product Line:
EM4800, EM4805, EM4833, EM4880
EM4000, EM4033, EM4080
E4805, E4833, E4880

Environment:
Current Transformer, Wire Gauge, Wire Length, Accuracy

Cause:
Extending the cable adds resistance (burden) to the current circuit, so the idea is to minimize the amount of resistance in the wiring so that the accuracy is affected at a minimum.

Resolution:
The maximum recommended distance for the E4833, E4880, EM4833, EM4880, EM4033, and the EM4080 is 325 feet.
Use twisted pair 22 AWG or larger wire when extending the CT leads for the E4833, E4880, EM4833, EM4880, EM4033 and EM4080.

The maximum recommended distance for the E4805, and the EM4805 is 50 feet
This distance will vary depending upon the burden rating of the CT's being used. Refer to the charts below to determine the maximum distance and wire gage for your CT's.
