Why does an ATS22 controlled stop not bring the motor to a complete stop at the end of ramp time?

Issue:
ATS22 does not follow the decel ramp.

Product Line:
Altistart 22 ATS22

Environment:
All ATS22

Cause:
Ramp time is short.

Resolution:
The ATS22 cannot produce braking torque during the deceleration ramp. It can only produce driving torque. Therefore, the deceleration ramp can extend the stopping time by ramping down the driving torque. It cannot reduce the stopping time to less than a normal coast to stop.

When a braking feature is required, use a variable speed drive and consider an optional DB resistor.
