What should the DC bus measure on an ATV312H...N4?

Resolution:

The DC bus voltage on an ATV312H…N4 drive depends on the incoming AC supply voltage.

As a general rule, the DC bus voltage will be approximately equal to the peak value of the line supply voltage.

Example:

  • If the line supply voltage is 480 VAC (RMS)
  • The expected DC bus voltage is:
    480 × 1.414 ≈ 678 VDC

This relationship applies because the DC bus reflects the rectified peak of the AC input voltage.
