How can I change a Model 85A to a Model 98A temperature controller on my medium voltage transformer?
Issue:
The Model 85A temperature controller and no longer available, with no repair parts. The current replacement is a Model 98A, part number 2480600151, which now supersedes the previous replacement temperature controller, the Model 98, which is now also obsolete and no longer available, with no repair parts. The part numbers for the now obsolete Model 98 retrofit kits [4354003863 (indoor) or 4354003864 (outdoor)] are now superseded by the Model 98A retrofit kit part number, 2480600151, which is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. The retrofit kit comes with a new metal trim plate, temperature probes(to insert into each transformer winding) and the controller itself. The transformer serial number is required with the order so that the controller parameters can be factory set. Sheet metal on the existing transformer enclosure will have to be modified to accept this new controller.
