The cover is hinged to the enclosure on the left side, so it opens from right to left. But since this is a NEMA 12 enclosure, there are some brackets on the right side of the cover and enclosure and the cover physically bolts to the enclosure on the right side. To open the cover, these bolts will need to be loosened and the operating handle will need to be in the off position.
To open the cover if the operating handle is in the ON position, all the bolts will need to be loosened and the cover interlock defeat mechanism will need to be operated for the cover to open.
