Why won’t the ATV212 drive start when the P24–F run contact is closed?

Resolution:

If the ATV212 does not start when the P24–F run contact is closed, verify the following:

  • Confirm that CMOd is set to 0 to enable terminal control.
  • If any network functions are enabled for monitoring purposes, set F108 = 48.
  • Review the logic input programming. Typically, F111 = 2 is used for the Run Forward function. Be aware that other settings may combine the Run Forward command with additional functions.
  • Verify that the VFD is in Remote mode. The LOC/REM button’s green LED on the keypad should be OFF.
  • Check the VFD’s 24 VDC control power supply by measuring between P24 and CC.
  • Confirm that the run command circuit is complete by measuring 24 VDC between F and CC.
  • Ensure that the drive has a valid speed reference. The drive may be running at 0 Hz, which is indicated by a red RUN LED on the display.
  • Verify that the run permissive condition is satisfied.
    • If the display shows “OFF”, the run permissive has not been met.
    • Note that “OFF” may be a normal indication if the run permissive becomes active at the same time the run command is issued.
