Can I use an XW6848+ and an XW6048 in a dual setup?

Issue

Customer wants to install an XW6848+ inverter alongside an existing XW6048 in a dual‑inverter setup.

Dual‑inverter system setup

Cause

Firmware versions between the XW6848+ and XW6048 are not identical by default, preventing parallel operation.

Resolution

Yes, the units can be used together if their firmware versions match.

To achieve compatibility, do one of the following:

  • Downgrade the XW6848+ to XW6048 firmware, or
  • Upgrade the XW6048 to the XW+NA6848 firmware level.
