Cause:
The standard bimetallic overload relay has been obsoleted, but bimetallic relays are still desired for certain applications
Resolution:
For size 00, size 0, and size 1 starters, the form code E can be used to order an adapter and baseplate for an IEC overload relay. An LRD relay (LRD01-LRD35 or LR3D01-LR3D35) can then be ordered separately and field installed on the device with no further hardware necessary. The form E by itself will not include an overload relay, only the adapter and nameplate.
For larger sizes, there is no standard form code or option available for an adapter or basplate. The best solution would be to separately mount an IEC overload (with adapter) with a NEMA contactor instead.
