Explanation
The PM5000 series meters have different default login credentials depending on the firmware version and meter model.
Legacy firmware refers to older versions (v2.9.9 and earlier for most models).
New firmware refers to versions v4.0.0 and above (or equivalent for other models).
Use the table below to identify which credentials apply to your meter.
How to Check Firmware Version
On the meter display:
Navigate to Maint > Diag > Info to view the firmware version.

Password Policy
Minimum length: 8–16 characters.
Must include:
- At least 1 uppercase letter
- At least 1 number
- At least 1 special character
Session timeout: 10 minutes.
Lockout after 5 failed attempts (2-minute lock).
HTTPS enabled by default for new firmware.
FTP disabled by default (can enable via display or webpages).
Password Reset (if lost)
1. Go to the meter front panel.
2. Navigate to Maint > Reset > User Acc Resets.
3. Enter passcode (default: 0).
4. Confirm reset.
Note: This deletes all customizations and data.
