How Do You Program an ATS22 Soft Starter to Trip When the Number of Starts per Hour Is Exceeded?

Resolution:

The ATS22 soft starter allows you to limit the number of motor starts within a defined time period. If the programmed limit is exceeded, the soft starter will trip to protect the equipment.

Resolution / Programming Steps:

  1. Access the Adjustment (Adj) menu on the ATS22.
  2. Set Snb (Number of Starts):
    • Options: Off or 1 to 10 starts
  3. Set SLG (Start Period):
    • Options: 1 to 60 minutes

How It Works (Example):

  • If Snb = 3 and SLG = 10 minutes, the soft starter allows up to 3 starts within 10 minutes.
  • If the motor is started more than 3 times during this period, the ATS22 will trip with a SnbF fault.

This setting helps prevent excessive starting that could overheat or damage the motor.
