Video: Why do Modbus Tester and the EGX webpage reading values differ from the front panel of the meter?

Issue
When I read the value from the front display of a meter it looks correct however when I read it the value as a register read from the EGX webpage or the Modbus Tester tool the value returned is vastly different.

Example: The front panel of the meter displays -9,173 kVAR yet the direct register reads yield a value of 56362

Cause
The registers are stored in the meter as a signed 32 bit value but the EGX register read and Modbus Tester treat the register as an unsigned 32 bit value.
