Resolution
For ION8600: ION8600 DOES NOT have this feature available. ION8600 meter has been directly replaced by the ION8650 meter and is no longer being actively manufactured.
For ION8650:
Note: The Syslog feature is only available on firmware version 4.20 and newer
To setup the syslog on the ION8650 the following steps need to be performed:
- Connect to meter in ION Setup
- Open Setup Assistant
- Go to Communications->Network Settings
- Click on the Syslog tab
- Enter the Syslog Server IP by double clicking on Syslog Server entry
- Enable the Syslog by double clicking the Enable Syslog entry
Note: Syslog uses UDP port 514 to communicate with a syslog server.
