How is the Cam Gap set for a VR breaker ?

Issue:
What are the Instructions for adjusting the Cam Gap on a VR breaker ?

Product Line:
VR- Metalclad Breaker

Environment:
Maintenance

Cause:
Adjustment

Resolution:
The breaker CAM gap (also known as the Mechanism Gap) is a GO/NO-GO test. The GAP is not measured or recorded. We have a gap tool that gives us minimum (3mm) and a maximum (5mm), the minimum should pass and the maximum should not pass through the gap. If there is a need to adjust the GAP a little (minor adjustment) we usually adjust the travel by adjusting the STOP BLOCK BOLT (Red square in photo) IN (if gap too big) or OUT (if gap too small).  If there is a need to adjust the GAP a lot (major adjustment) we start adjusting the DRAWBAR ARM (Green square in photo), afterwards, perform the STOP BLOCK BOLT adjustment as described above.

Keep in mind that all these adjustments are accumulative; any adjustment made to the travel will effect the adjustments downstream ( Mech Gap and the E Gaps).
