What Is Command Switching on ATV61/ATV71 and ATV630/ATV930 Drives, and How Does It Work?
Resolution:
Command switching allows Altivar drives (ATV61, ATV71, ATV630, and ATV930) to switch control between Command Channel 1 and Command Channel 2. This feature is useful when the start/stop command and the speed reference need to come from different sources.
Command switching is available when the drive profile is set to:
- Separate profile
[Profile] (CHCF) = SEP, or - I/O profile
[Profile] (CHCF) = IO
How Command Switching Operates
- Cd1 – Command Channel 1 active:
Channel 1 remains active with no switching. - Cd2 – Command Channel 2 active:
Channel 2 remains active with no switching. - Digital input assigned (LI1 to LI6, or a logic bit):
- When the assigned input or bit = 0, Command Channel 1 (Cd1) is active.
- When the assigned input or bit = 1, Command Channel 2 (Cd2) is active.
Note: Assignment options follow the conditions defined in the Programming Manual. Some command bits (for example, CDO0 to CD14) are not valid for this function.
