What does the "D" signify on an EMA series SPD?

Product Line:
Surge Protective Devices (SPD's)

Resolution:

The "D" in the part number signifies a 150A automatic molded case switch, which does not provide overload protection. It is not possible to field-install an integral disconnect switch in an EMA SPD. The SPD must be ordered with the integral disconnect "D" included, SSPxxEMAxxxDx. The EMA terminals for the disconnect switch accept a range of 10 AWG to 3/0 AWG copper wire for each phase connector. Wiring diagrams with integral switch are shown on pages 17-19 of the SurgeLogic EMA Series Instruction Bulletin.
