EDS Device Data Type is imported as bits instead of bytes.

Issue
EDS Device Data Type is imported as bits instead of bytes.

Product Line
Unity

Environment
Windows 10

Resolution
When you import a device using the '.EDS' file, the Device Data Type is in bits instead of bytes.   The Input, Input (bit), Output, Output(bit) tabs in the DTM 'fdtConfiguration' window are all grayed

This is an intended behavior when the import mode is defiend as Items Management Import Mode is set as 'Automatic'.  When the 'AsDevice' is set in "Automatic", the out and bits cannot be defined in this mode.

In order to view the Device DDT in bits:
  • Change the import mode of a device from Automatic to Manual (Device List->Device->Properties)
  • Click Apply.

Afterwards, the Bits can be defined from Input (bit), Output (bit) tabs and the defined bits will be available in Device DDT
