What is the actual current consumption of a Lexium Integrated Drive type ILA ?

The current consumption printed on the motor label is value used for UL rating and does not reflect actual current consumption under normal operating conditions.

The real current consumption depends on:

- motor speed
- torque
- power supply voltage
- acceleration with load inertia
- The number of motors which are running at the same time
- current reduction at standstill activated

The real nominal current can be estimated as follow:

Pmechanic = 2*pi * n * M

(n : rps, M : Nm)

Current consumption = (Pmechanic + electrical losses)  / Power Supply Voltage

(electrical losses for ILA2T round about 30 W)

Two example:

1. Power Supply Voltage = 24VDC:    n = 100rpm = 1,666rps, M = 3Nm

Pmechanic = 2* pi * 1,666rps * 3Nm
Pmechanic = 31,4 W

Current consumption = (31,4 W  + 30 W) / 24VDC
Current consumption ~ 2,5A

2. Power Supply Voltage = 48VDC:    n = 100rpm = 1,666rps, M = 3Nm

Pmechanic = 2* pi * 1,666rps * 3Nm
Pmechanic = 31,4 W

Current consumption = (31,4 W  + 30 W) / 48VDC
Current consumption ~ 1,3A
