Resolution:
Surgelogic SPDs are not capable of communicating via Modbus or Ethernet.  The Surgelogic SPDs use Form C Dry Contacts (24V, 2A) for monitoring the status of the SPD.
ASCO 440 and 460 Series with Active Surge Monitoring (ASM) supports Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU, and Ethernet. These units also come equipped with Form C dry contacts (24V, 2A).
