Can Rogowski Coil Current Transformers (Rope Style CT's) Be Extended in the Field? How Far?

Issue
Rogowski Coil CT's may require secondary lead length extension.

Environment
Metering & Power Monitoring

Cause
The load may be farther from the meter than the standard CT secondary lead length 2.4m (~8ft)
It is sometimes difficult to get the meter mounting location within 8 feet from an appropriate location to install the current transformer on the load conductors.
Because of this, you may need to extend the length of the secondary leads from the current transformer.

Resolution
The latest UL2808 Schneider Rogowski Coil Current Transformers secondary leads come with a length of 2.4 m (~8ft)
The CT diameter can range from 300 mm to 900 mm depending on the model selected.
The CT secondary leads can be extended to allow for the extra length, however there is a limitation of 10 meters MAX (total of 30ft) including the 2.4 meters of the existing cable.
The conductors should be soldered to ensure a solid connection.
The conductors used must be a standard 24 gauge twisted cable.
The Twisted cables need to be a tight twist to eliminate any issues with the accuracy

See Page 9 of the attached document for further details on the UL2808 Rogowski Current Transformers.
