Video: How do you wire and program status relays R1 and R2 on an ATV320 drive?

Resolution:

The ATV320 drive includes two programmable relays:

  • R1 (Relay 1)

    • Can be wired as:
      • Normally Open (NO): R1A – R1C
      • Normally Closed (NC): R1B – R1C
  • R2 (Relay 2)

    • Normally Open (NO) only

Follow these steps from the drive interface:

  1. Navigate to: CONF (Configuration menu)
  2. Select: FULL
  3. Go to: I-O (Input/Output menu)
  4. Choose:
    • R1 to configure Relay 1, or
    • R2 to configure Relay 2

You can customize relay behavior based on your application, including:

  • Assigned function (e.g., run status, fault indication)
  • Activation condition
  • Delay time
  • Hold time
  • Fallback behavior
