Do Schneider Electric circuit breakers require no-ox grease when used with aluminum wire?
Issue:
Is it OK to use no-ox grease with Square D circuit breaker lugs?
Product Line:
Circuit Breakers
Resolution:
No-ox grease is not required or recommended on any Square D or Schnedier Electric molded case circuit breakers. The lugs are designed for use without no-ox, and torque specifications for the lugs are based on dry threads. If no-ox grease is used, less of the torque energy will be applied to overcoming friction and more will be applied to pressure (on the wire and on the threads), which may result in stripping the threads.
