Issue
An internal battery on a Micom P22x relay is required to be replaced.
Product Line
Micom P22x
Environment
Micom P22x Energy Automation
Cause
MiCOM P225 relays have a battery to maintain status data and the correct time if the auxiliary supply voltage fails. The data maintained includes event, fault and disturbance records and the thermal state at the time of failure. The battery is required to be replaced when it reaches it's end-of-life.
Resolution
Instructions for replacing the battery;
1. Open the lower flap on the front of the relay.
2. Gently extract the battery from its location. If necessary, use a small screwdriver to pry the battery free.
3. Ensure that the metal terminals in the battery location are free from corrosion, grease and dust.
4. Place the replacement battery in position ensuring that the polarity is correct.
NOTE:
Only use a ½AA Lithium battery with a voltage rating of 3.6V.
ENSURE THAT THE BATTERY IS SECURELY HELD IN ITS LOCATION.
CLOSE THE LOWER FLAP ON THE FRONT OF THE RELAY.
