Issue:
How to rack in a Masterpact NW breaker

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Resolution:
  • Start with the breaker in the DISCONNECTED position.
  • Remove the racking handle from the storage hole in the lower right side of the cradle.
  • Press breaker "OPEN" button
  • Continue pressing the OPEN button, and insert the racking handle into the hole to the right of the grey button on the lower front of the cradle. This will require putting light pressure on the handle while rotating it back and forth, until it goes all the way in. Once the racking handle is in, the OPEN button will be held inward, so it is ok to stop pressing.
  • Press in the gray stop release button on the lower front of the cradle
  • Rotate the racking handle clockwise until the breaker reaches the TEST position (the gray button will pop out).
  • Press in the gray stop release button on the lower front of the cradle
  • Rotate the racking handle clockwise until the breaker reaches the CONNECTED position (the gray button will pop out)
  • Remove the racking handle from the small hole, and replace back into the storage hole in the lower right front of the cradle.
To rack the breaker out, reverse the process.
