How Do I Configure an Altivar 630 (ATV630) for 2-Wire Control and Connect the Start/Stop Signal?

1. From the drive keypad, go to 5 – Complete Settings.
2. Select 5.5 – Command and Reference.
3. Locate 2/3 Wire Type and set it to 2 Wire.

Start/Stop Wiring:

• Connect the drive's 24 VDC supply to DI1 through a normally open, maintained contact.
• Contact closed: The drive receives a Forward Run command.
• Contact open: The Forward Run command is removed, and the drive stops according to the configured stop mode.

If the drive does not respond to the Start/Stop command:

• Check the top-right corner of the drive HMI. It should display TERM, indicating that the drive is configured to receive commands from the terminals.
• Check the top-left corner of the HMI. RDY indicates that the drive is ready and waiting for a run command.
• If TERM and RDY are displayed but the drive still does not respond, verify the drive's command and reference configuration.
• Refer to the ATV600 Series Programming Manual and check the following parameters:
  • CHCF (Control Mode): Verify that the command configuration is appropriate for IO Mode
  • FR1 (Reference Frequency 1): Verify that the frequency reference is assigned to the intended source (analog inputs)
  • CD1 (Command channel 1): Verify that the command channel is set for terminals.
