How Do You Configure Preset Speeds on ATV630 and ATV930 Drives?

Resolution:

You can set preset speeds on ATV630 and ATV930 drives by assigning digital inputs and defining the corresponding speed values.

✅ Basic Setup Steps

  1. Go to:
Main Menu → Complete Settings (CST) → Generic Functions → Preset Speeds

  2. Assign preset speed inputs:

    • Assign digital inputs (DIx) to preset speed selection (for example, DI1, DI2, DI3).
  3. Set the speed values:

    • Define each preset speed (e.g., SP2, SP3, SP4, etc.) in Hz based on your application.
  4. Activate preset speeds:

    • When the assigned digital inputs change state, the drive automatically switches to the corresponding preset speed.

Preset speeds are selected using a binary (ON/OFF) combination of digital inputs:

  • Each digital input represents a binary bit (0 = OFF, 1 = ON).
  • Up to 16 preset speeds are supported depending on the number of inputs configured.
  • The combination of ON/OFF states determines which preset speed is active.
  • Preset speeds override the normal speed reference when active.
  • Always verify input assignments to avoid unintended operation.

The manual contains a truth table that explains which inputs need to be On/Off for multiple Preset Speeds to work.  See the attached excerpt from the manual.
