How Do I Configure an ATV630 or ATV930 Drive for PID Auto/Manual Control Using an HOA Switch?
Resolution:
To configure PID Auto/Manual operation with an HOA switch:

Navigate to: [Complete Settings] → [Pump Functions] → [PID Controller] → [Reference Frequency]

Configure the PID reference:
- Set Internal PID Reference = No.
- The drive will use FR1 as the PID setpoint source.
- Set FR1 = AI1 (Speed Potentiometer).

Configure the Auto/Manual selection:
- Assign PAU (Auto/Manual Assignment) to a digital input, for example DI3.
- Set the Manual Reference Assignment to AI1 (Speed Potentiometer).
Operation
Hand (Manual) Mode
- DI3 = High
- The drive speed reference is taken directly from the AI1 potentiometer.
- The drive operates in manual speed control.
Auto Mode
- DI3 = Low
- The drive operates using PID control.
- The PID setpoint is provided by the AI1 potentiometer.
- The drive adjusts output based on PID feedback to maintain the desired process value.
