Resolution:
The MPZ/B has a clearance requirement of at least 12" or 13" from front, top, bottom, and sides to any obstruction.  The clearance requirement is shown on the NamePlate.  The clearances for such Transformers are established per UL mandated alcove testing procedures, in which such tests are conducted in a prefabricated alcove testing space with those required clearance dimensions.  The testing, when done and passed, obtain UL approval for that catalog number of Transformer, and the required clearances printed on the NamePlate are a reflection of that UL mandated testing regimen.  The clearances presume to a achieve adequate proper airspace to cool the Transformer properly, so we require them per UL mandates.
