How is expansion I/O module added to SCADAPack PLC?
When the amount of available I/O on the SCADAPack PLC is exceeded by process requirements, additional 5000 Series I/O Expansion modules are required.
These expansion modules are mounted on the DIN rail either to the left or right of the SCADAPack and are connected to the PLC through Inter-Module-Communication (IMC) cables. IMC cables pass 5V power and I/O communication signals from the PLC to the expansion modules. Refer to the following diagram.
There is no specific order in which I/O Expansion modules should be installed/connected. Every module must have unique address set by DIP switches on expansion module.
