What is the Alternate source sense feature in PM1130H meter ?
Issue
Customer requires clarification on how the Alternate Source Sense feature works in the PM1130H meter.
Product Line
PM1130H (EasyLogic Power & Energy Meter)
Environment
PM1130H installations using utility (Source 1) and an alternate power source (Source 2)
Cause
Understanding is needed on how the meter detects and records energy usage and run hours when an alternate power source is present.
Resolution
The Alternate Source Sense terminals allow the PM1130H to detect the status of two power sources:
- Source 1 connects to the utility supply.
- Source 2 connects to the alternate source via a 1‑phase LN connection.
When Source 2 is energized, voltage is detected at the terminal, and the meter recognizes that the system is operating on the alternate source.
The meter measures and stores:
- Accumulated energy for Source 1 and Source 2
- Run hours for Source 1 and Source 2
Total energy usage and total run hours displayed by the meter represent the sum of both sources.
All accumulated values and run hours can be viewed on the meter display or through communication.
Note: Historical accumulated energy and run‑hour data for each source can also be accessed through display or communication.
