What causes an SLF3 fault on an ATV600 or ATV900 series drive?
Resolution
An SLF3 (Serial Link Fault 3) occurs when an Altivar ATV600 or ATV900 series drive is programmed to be controlled through the keypad (HMI), but the keypad is not detected by the drive.
This fault indicates that the drive configuration expects communication with keypad hardware that is no longer connected or available.
You can resolve the SLF3 fault in one of the following ways:
Change the Control Source
Reconfigure the drive so it is not using the keypad for control (for example, switch to terminal control or network control).
Reconnect the Keypad
Ensure the keypad remains connected at all times when the drive is powered, if keypad control is required.
After correcting the configuration or reconnecting the keypad, reset or cycle power to clear the fault.
