Does M580 Safety CPU support IOscanning?
Yes, it is embedded into the M580 Safety CPUs as it is for other standard M580 CPU using the Distributed I/O Scanner Service that allows non-deterministic communication with distributed Ethernet devices to be integrated into the PlantStruxure™ architecture.
It supports devices using open & standard protocols:
- Modbus/TCP
- EtherNet/IP
Note : M580 safety CPUs can support also safe communication :
- using CIP Safety protocol over EIP
- using specific DFBs and configuration as described in safety manual (REF : QGH46982) to get a safe peer-to-peer communication (safe communication between two M580 CPUs over Modbus/TCP)
