What are the green, yellow, and red LED indicators on the Micrologic trip units of PowerPacT H, J, and L frame circuit breakers?

Issue:
Purpose of the green (ready), orange (>95) and red (>105) indicators on H, J and L breaker trip units

Product Line:
Circuit Breaker

Resolution:
GREEN LED
When the green LED is flashing, the electronic trip unit is powered and the breaker is ready to protect.
  • If the trip unit is powered with 24 Vdc, the green LED will alway flash (not dependent on load current)
  • If the trip unit is not powered with 24 Vdc, the green LED will begin to flash when sufficient load current causes the trip unit to power up based on the following approximate amounts:
    • Powerpact 60 A and 100 A H-Frame breaker needs at least 15 A load current
    • Powerpact 150 A H-Frame breaker needs at least 30 A load current
    • Powerpact J-Frame breaker needs at least 30 A load current
    • Powerpact L-Frame breaker needs at least 50 A load current

YELLOW (ORANGE) LED
When the yellow LED is steady on, the load current through the breaker has reached 90% of its long time rating (90% Ir).

RED LED
When the red LED is steady on, the load current through the breaker has reached 105% of its long time rating (105% Ir).
